Eric OKafo Breaks & Beats Bass

DrumDrops Eric OKafo Breaks & Beats Bass WAV

DrumDrops are proud and delighted to announce Beas n Breaks Bass from bassist extraordinaire Eric OKafo. With tempos ranging from 95-170bpm Eric takes inspiration from many of the basslines that have influenced him and countless others, from the classic P -bass Motown sound of James Jamerson to the filtered funk of Bootsy, the twang and slap of Marcus Miller right up to the seriously twisted synth bass of break beat and Jungle.

The 100% royalty free pack consists of 322 Meg of data giving a total of 256 stunning Wav loops , these meticulously recorded in pristine 44.1k /24 bit at Lake Malvik Studios.

Eric’s selection of Fender, Lakeland and Status basses were recorded through various DI boxes into a Neve 1073 Preamp, these were then re-amped when required through a vintage Ampeg B15 amp and various vintage synth/ effect processors from Moog, Roland, Musictronics, Elektro Harmonix and many more.

This is also the first bass only pack from Drumdrops and has been designed to be a perfect accompaniment to Adams Betts Beats and Breaks Vol 1 or as a standalone product (all drums in the demo tracks are from Adam’s pack). We truly enjoyed producing this collection in the knowledge of it being far from just another run of the mill loop pack, we truly believe these beats will add that extra special edge to your productions.

For now over two decades Eric has been one of the busiest bass players on the touring and recording scene. He started out in his home town of Dublin, Ireland initially working across the genres from Funk and Rock to Ska and Latin.

Relocating to New York city he quickly became a busy studio bass player and ended up worked extensively in the underground hip hop scene.

Since then he has settled in the UK music hub of Bristol becoming a busy and sought after bassist on stage and in the studio.Working with such people as Pee Wee Ellis (James Brown) and Tony Allen (Fela Kuti).

His Influences are Chuck Rainey,Marcus Miller, James Jamerson, Bootsy Collins, Geddy Lee and John Paul Jones, these can all be heard in this stunning collection of loops.
